THE LAMB HAS HIS DAY

I covet tranquil hours with you, As intervening time has few

Bright moments to compare with when My hungry heart comes from its den. A savage, pounding, searching beast, Devours with lust each rabid feast;

Then sleeps awhile and knows brief peace, Yet longs for infinite release.

A paradox in every way,

As lamb and lion have their day; Friend and foe symbolically,

Alliance for eternity.
